Another new year, another new year’s resolution.
And does January 1st feel like Groundhog Day?
I’m not talking about the weather that is expected for January 1, 2020 even though this warm snap is expected to continue until then.

No, I’m talking about that resolution you made last year that never got fulfilled. Kind of like Bill Murray in the 1993 movie, Groundhog Day. In this movie his character kept waking up on the same day, Groundhog Day. If you’ve never watched it, I recommend it. It’s a great movie.
So many people make resolutions on New Year’s Day. 40% of Americans, in fact (according to this Forbes article) and only 8% keep them.
Is your new year resolution one of the following?
- Lose Weight
- Quit Smoking
- Save Money or Spend Less
- Learn Something New
- Change Jobs
- Drink Less
- Get Organized
The article suggests various ways to stick to your New Year’s resolution including:
- making it obvious
- keeping the resolution simple
- making it tangible
- keeping believing you can do it
But . . .
the article leaves out one important detail.
The article says that “you have as much willpower as you think you have”. But it doesn’t say that your willpower lives in the conscious part of your mind. This part of the mind is limited, it only holds between 7 to 9 pieces of information at any one time.
So how can you have a better chance of keeping your New Year’s resolution?
To achieve real change, you have to change the beliefs and feelings in your subconscious mind.
This can be done with hypnosis. In hypnosis we can get past the logical, rational, conscious part of your mind and give the suggestions to your subconscious to help you keep your new year’s resolution.
But, here’s the important thing you need to know
Hypnosis can’t make you do something that you don’t want to do. It would be nice if it could, but that’s not possible.
You see, the subconscious part of your mind is very protective and will not let a suggestion in if it’s something you don’t want to do or would hurt you.
So, you really have to want to make the change you are resolving to make, hypnosis can help you do it.
It’s the missing key to help you be successful in keeping that obvious, simple and tangible resolution. Hypnosis can help you keep believing you can achieve it. Not only that, it can change the programming in your mind’s computer to make that change happen.
